Prof. Dr. Md. Zafrul Hassan obtained his  MBBS from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College on January 1998. He went to Saudi Arabia to gather more experience. He completed FCPS in ophthalmology, in 2012 from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). He obtained Post graduate fellowship in glaucoma at Aravind Eye Hospital, Tamil Nadu, India. He also obtained Postgraduate fellowship in cornea & ant. segment at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was trained in ophthalmology at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital & National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital (NIOH)

Prof. Dr. Md. Zafrul Hassan joined as a medical officer under MOH, KSA from 2003 to 2007. He was a consultant in the cornea department & also head of the dept. in glaucoma from 2013 to 2018 at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital. Now He is working as a professor in Lions Eye Institute & Hospital & takes the responsibility for Cornea, Cataract & Glaucoma Department.
